It's The Last Day of September...
Hey there Crop Suey fans - it's Michelle here again! It's the last day of September and you know what that means... The big reveal is coming soon for the October kits! YEAY!!! SERIOUSLY - you guys are gonna LOVE what's in store!
I don't want to get ahead of myself tho, cuz I am still having a blast with the September kit and I have a couple of new layouts to share with you!
The first one is for this week's song over at the Scrapping the Music Challenge blog. The song is "Celebration" by Kool and The Gang, and I made my layout with pics from my sister-in-law Stef's college graduation party:It was such a festive occasion and the Over the Rainbow kit was a perfect match for this layout. Everything I used was from the kit except the green cardstock and the black alphas that spell "Stef." If you've never checked out Scrapping The Music, come on over and play along with us, it's a lot of fun!
The next layout was for the current challenge over at Scrapmojo. Crop Suey is sponsoring the challenge this week with one of Bree's kits! I have never done the Scrapmojo challenge, but it was really unique and a lot of fun - now that I've tried it, I'm sure I will do it again! The challenge was to take inspiration from Cirque de Soleil, and I chose to use their "Love" show as my inspiration. You can see the home page for the show here, and here's the layout I did:The pic is of my hubby Michael and me when we were first getting together, a little over two years ago now. He really brought sunshine into my life! Again, everything is from the kit, except for the plain colored cardstock and the black Thickers that say "it's alright." I hand-drew and cut out the words "Here Comes The Sun" from the patterned paper that comes with the kit, and then colored them with oil crayons to give the sun-ray effect. I LOVE oil crayons! Always have, ever since I was a kid. Some things you just never outgrow! The current Scrapmojo challenge ends today, so get over there quick if you want to enter and have a chance to win Bree's kit!
Well, that's it for today folks! I'll be chatting at ya again next Tuesday! Til then take care and happy scrapping!

First time, long post… + a tutorial !
First, I want to show you some layouts I did with Camille’s kit. This kit is so complete that I did 5 layouts and 1 mini-album… and I still have stuff to play with!
Here are my layouts. I speak French, so they are in French… I’ll translate them for you…
1- Tu es un rayon de soleil – You are my sunshine
When I saw this little doll, I knew it would fit this picture. I really had fun using lots of yellow, punching the little cercles, stiching here and there and "splashing" the ink with a toothbrush.Everything is from Camille's kit except the cardstock, the tiny letters and the pin.

2- Petit visage angélique – Little angel face
I couldn't resist using this gorgeous Hambly transparency as a background and putting my photo/papers/embellishments without hiding to much the overlay. I worked with the same papers that my first layout "Tu es un rayon de soleil", but it's so different!!!Again, everything is from Camille's kit except the cardstock, the tiny letters, the Scenic Route rub-on and two buttons.

3- Au paradis – In paradise
You know what's great about these kits? It's that you can achieve so different looks with the same kit! Here's an example where I used the Basic Grey OffBeat papers. The idea for the distressed background was taken from Milou. I also stamped the awesome Pink Persimmon mushroom stamps to add at the buttom. I'm now addicted to those mini-mushrooms!Everything is from the kit except the brown cardstock, the tiny letters and two buttons.
4- Photo - Photo
Journaling says: Since I own a Canon XSI, I take pictures all the time. It's a real passion!
This October Afternoon paper collection is totally awesome! I loved to work with it! I simply added some little Love, Elsie cameras to go with the theme, like my friend Vero85 did on a couple of layouts. Everything is from the kit except the cardstock, the Love, Elsie embellishments and the little piece of ribbon.
5- Mignons champignons – Cute mushrooms
Back here with the OffBeat collection. I used paint on the background to make everything pop a little bit more. Again, some mushrooms at the buttom. Totally appropriate with this theme, don't you think?!?!!!Apart from Camille's kit, I used buttons, letters and woodgrain Dymo label.
Here is also my mini-album. When I saw the Hometown collection, I just HAD to make a mini about my hometown… I wanted to so bad but I didn’t have any pictures! So I went to take pictures everywhere like if I was a tourist in my very own little village!!! Anyway, here it is… It’s very simple, but I love it.

Did you see the pictures? These are new pictures I modified a little to make them look old! I show you how to acheive this look next week… Would you like to know?
And last but not least, I have a little story to share…
When I received Camille’s kit the first time, I was so excited to open the package that I ripped off the paper of the envelope… Some strange thing (which is used to protect the inside of the envelope) fell off everywhere. I was like : « That is a strange and messy envelope… » But then, I realised I knew what it was and what could be done with it…
I decided to give it a try just to be sure it really was what I thought… and it WORKED!!!!!!!
Here is what I did with the inside of the envelope…

Can you believe it! It was first an envelope…! And now, just by recycling the inside of it, I turned it into the cutest mushrooms and gnomes ever!
I prepared a turorial to show how you can do that. At the end of the video, I also show you other creations I did.
*** Can't make it work in this message... I put it under this post...***
Isn’t this great? Not only will you receive great kits but you’ll also have almost everything you need to make these cuties!
So please, SAVE THE ENVELOPES! RECYCLE THEM! USE THEM!
By the way, I received Camille’s October kit… It is gorgeous!!! You’ll love it, I’m sure!!
Have a nice week-end!!!

I need to follow the leader...
Ok, since the beans are being spilled...
Why don't I add a little syrup to sweeten it up (that's what we always put on our beans as kids)
Here is a small peak (in a big picture)

You can see one line of paper I chose, but there is also one more that is completely different.
Enjoy the sneak...it makes life just a little sweeter!

October Sneaky Peek?
Thanks Deanna for your amazing tips on flocking. I haven't tried it before...I'm off to try in a few minutes. You totally inspired me.

Tried flock?
I guess it's kinda like, "Got milk?" Hey there girls! It's Crop Chick Deanna here, and I want to share a fun way to add more texture to your pages if you haven't tried it already.
When I recently got Camille's Sept. kit and saw those awesome Riff Raff chipboard wildflowers in it, I knew I wanted to do something special with them! I just didn't know what. Inspiration struck when I scrolled back through the Crop Suey blog posts and saw Bree challenge for recycled materials. I had been dying to use some corrugated cardboard on a LO, and thought it'd look great paired with some BG Offbeat paper and the Riff Raff wildflower. Wanting to add even more texture (and change the color of the chipboard) I decided to flock the wildflower.
I used Doodlebug velvet crushed flock, some liquid craft glue, and my fingers to get the effect I wanted. It was really simple, but a wee bit messy. I've found that it's easiest to use flock like you use glitter. Cover the chipboard with the liquid adhesive, pour the flock on top, give it a few seconds, then gently press or pat the flock to secure it to the glue. Then of course you tap the whole piece to get rid of the excess flock. I repeated the process to get a thicker coat of flock, and here's the end result:
Now others have tried their Xryon and it didn't work. Neither did a glue stick or tape runner. The general consensus is that liquid craft glue is the best. Well, that and Doodlebug makes double-sided stickers that work really well too. I hope to see you guys use more flock in the future! Don't be intimidated. It really is easy! :)
Oh and here's the LO that I made. Simple but, lots of texture!

Happy Wednesday!
Good morning everyone! It's Crop Chick Kristina here reporting for duty. ;)
It is so cold here this morning. The seasons have changed really fast and I am totally unprepared. I have been living in tank tops for the past six months, and I am so excited to buy some great fall clothes and dress up in cozy sweaters and boots.
With another season upon us, this means that we have a whole new set of photo taking opportunities in front of us.
Fall is my favorite time of year for taking pictures. ( In case you didn't know, my day job is a professional photographer.)
There are so many fantastic colors and fun family activities to explore. You can go apple picking, jump in the leaves on the ground, splash around in the puddles, or just go for long walks and check out the surrounding foliage. Make sure to take advantage of the changing seasons, grab that camera and take some pictures. Because after all, how you can you scrapbook with Crop Suey's kits, if you don't have any fun and inspiring new pictures to scrap?
I will leave you with another layout that I created with Bree's September kit, and get ready because October's kits will be here soon.
That little lady in the top left is from the back of the contact paper in the kit. :)
Have a happy Wednesday!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!
Hey everyone - it's Crop Chick Michelle here! Happy Tuesday! It's my first time blogging for Crop Suey and I'm super excited! I'm gonna be here chatting with you every Tuesday for the next six-months. I have been having a ton of fun with my Over The Rainbow kit and I can't wait to share my projects with you! This first one I just finished earlier tonight. The minute I saw this super cute owl paper I was in love. That one blue owl is just the best! I took one look at him and knew he was saying "I gotta be me!" LOL. Anyway, its a 6"x12" layout, and everything I used is from the kit except the blue duct tape, the ribbon on the bottom and the words "own tune" which are Cosmo Cricket Rubons.
The next project is a mini-album about the neighborhood walks my hubby Michael and I have taken this summer. Everything I used is in the kit except the plain colored cardstock and the binder itself:I still have a ton of stuff left in my kit and lots of ideas! So how are you liking your Crop Suey kits so far? What have you made? Email them in or post a link- we'd love to see what you're doing!
Take care everyone - and I'll see you again next Tuesday!

The fun has just begun...
It's so fun to be able to post all of the layouts that you girls have been making with our kits.
These are from Crop Chick Michelle. She writes:
Okay I am Crop Suey Kit Crazy! Went to a crop today and had so much fun with my new kit! This is my first layout.
Everything is from the kit except the red duct tape, the paint, and the sequins.
I took this picture on a walk in the neighborhood with Michael recently. The journaling around the outside is my wish mantra. It says "I wish for the best possible outcome for all involved."
These yummy layouts are from our friend Brenda Wiebe. She loved our kits so much that she bought both of them. Here is what she created with them:
Jasper: Photo of my family camping in Jasper this summer. I used the "Over the Rainbow" kit, plus white cardstock, lots of paint and extra buttons. Love the stamps!
Just a few reminders.
Bree is still looking for takers on her ATC swap (you know the one that covers the decades over 5 months). I know I am REALLY looking forward to doing them.
I am new at ATCs (you may be laughing right now...and that's ok). But I need to take the leap somehow...it may as well be with this ATC swap! I can't wait to get my collection started!!
We are really looking forward to the October reveal. My heart is getting going again and anticipating the surge of excitement once again!
It's Monday again...have a great week!

Look who's been playing!
Our kits have made it into the hands of our Crop Chicks and they are getting very creative!
Here are some things that Deanna cooked up...
...and they are yummy!
Here is her work and her write ups:

"Fave 3" CD case picture frame
Once those were enclosed on the inside, I decided to add some 3D embellies to the outside. And the think that I like about this is that I can keep switching out the picture and inside pp, and keep the embellishments the same! It was fast, easy, and I'm so excited about the way it turned out! If I get more done, I'll let you girls know! Thanks again for picking me as a part of your DT!
I also know that our Crop Chicks Tracy and Michelle are in the midst of cooking up something too!
You have to come back again real soon for more LOs as we are posting them as they come in!
Enjoy the delicious creations, I know I am loving all of these great pages!
Also, October's kits are going to be posted soon. They are simply to die for! I can't wait to see what everyone makes with the "package"!
Enjoy your Saturday!

ARTIST TRADING CARDS AKA ATC's!
So I was thinking about what I am going to do with all this "free time" while I'm housebound,
It'll go like this.
OCT 31 we will each make so many atc's based on the 1960's
Nov 30 we will each make so many atc's for the 1970's
Dec 31 we will each make so many atc's for the 1980's
Jan 30 we will each make so many atc's for the 1990's
Feb 28 we will each make so many atc's for the 2000s
Think of the fabulous ATC's that will come from this.
So each month you will make 15? cards based on that decade.
It can be Music, Fashion, celebrities, toys, tv shows, movies, hair styles...
The list is endless. No rules....
I'm dying to get started on these...
So let's start sign-ups.
DEADLINE for 1960's cards will be OCT 31
This should give us lots and lots of time to get these done.
$5.00 sent to me, cuz I'm in Canada,
(I will send them out at the end of each month.)
The extra postage will go to Win House (Women In Need)
It is a safe home for abused Women and children here in Edmonton.
Can't wait....
Who's in?
I'm soooo in
1. Bree (hotmama)
2. Camille (I'm just signing her up, this will be he first, she's an ATC virgin.)
3.jessicamae

6.ravenea (Crop Chick Michelle)
7.erinwillis

One of those days...
Well, I'm late in posting for several reasons.
First, my daughter was up for 1.5 hours in the middle of the night (so waking up early did not come easily).
Then, I am watching some extra kids today...3 to be exact! (when you only have 2, an extra three is a handful!)
So, here I sit, almost four hours later than usual and I am stuck as to what to share.
Well, let me share what we are up to so far this week.
After Bree's accident/adventure, we got together to pack October's kits. They are so yummy and I am really looking forward to digging into them.
We also put the finishing touches on November's kits. WOW, I am really looking forward to November. The one advantage of having all of this great stuff is that I can oogle it more than you can. I am resisting temptation...which I cannot guarantee that Bree would be able to do.
She likes to indulge (don't you Bree?)
We've also put the October kits in the mail to our Crop Chicks. They are probably chomping at the bit to get them. That reminds me, we only have a 6 month design team commitment -so get your portfolio going now and start preparing for our April 09 Crop Chick call!
Really, not much more to report... unless you want to hear about the coolest EVER fort that I've built in my family room to entertain this boat load of children!
Check it out!

Ok, so it's tough to beat Bree's toe story (that makes me laugh -it kinda sounds like Toy Story) But every adventure is worth a story being told!
Have a great day!
