Sorry ladies! It's been a hectic day capped off by my dd busting her lip open while at the grocery store. If it's okay, I'll be back tonight with a more interesting read. Just didn't want you to think that I was M.I.A.

It's Crop Chick Kristina here, waving hello.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. It's freezing here right now and it's supposed to rain tomorrow and Friday. i hope that changes because trick-or-treating in the rain does not sound fun. My kids are all set with their costumes. My son, Sam is going to be a bat and my daughter, Emma, is going to be a geisha. I even bought her a little geisha wig. It's so cute. I can't wait to take pics and scrap them.
In other news, I got my November kit, and it is A-MA-ZING. I have already done one layout but I have to keep it a secret for now. I will just say that it is super fun and I am so inspired by it.
Here are a few other layouts that I have made in the past few weeks.......

I will be back next Wednesday with some projects to share from the November kit. :)
Have a wonderful week!!!

Hello hello hello out there! It's Michelle here! It's Tuesday again and I have an idea for you that will use up those leftover scraps as you get to the end of your kits! It's an old book that is altered into a Rolodex for my scraproom! Credit for coming up with the idea goes to my friend Aimee (Colmeec at SiStv). I've been wanting to make one ever since I saw hers - and I finally did it with the scraps from my September "Over The Rainbow" kit! Here's how it turned out:
It's super simple to do! You just take an old book (I got mine for 50 cents at the library) and saw it in half to make this shape: (Aimee did hers with an exacto knife. I just asked my hubby to use one of his electric saws out in the garage):Then you fold each page in half:
When the pages are all folded it looks like this:Take your scraps and make little tags. I think it's fun to make each one different. Then you attach them onto the page with staples or tape or whatever way you choose:
You can fold the pages backwards or forwards depending on what side you want to show. For instance if there are colorful illustrations in your book, you may want to fold your page the way that lets them show:
Aimee chose to decorate her cover and put a ribbon on so you could close it and put it in your purse. Mine will just be sitting on my scraproom table, so I didn't do that.
When you're done you've got a one-of-a-kind piece of altered art, and lots of room to collect addresses for all your scrappy friends!
I hope you like this idea! Take care everyone and until next Tuesday - happy scrapping!

Well hi there girls! It's me, Deanna, and I'm back to share yet another project I did with my October kit! This time around I decided to make my own banner. They seem to be very popular right now, and I really like how they add such a fun element to home decor. So of course I had to have one for Fall. However, the small 4 letter word Fall was just too tiny to drape all the way across my mantel so I went with "Autumn" instead.
The first thing I did was cut my pennants out of chipboard, then I covered them with paper. I added the scalloped edge just because I'm still into scallops. Love their whimsy! I decided to cover some HUGE BG chipboard letters with paper but then like the idea of a chipboard shadow instead. I went on to embellishing and this is what I got. If you look closely, not only have I included the owl from the Vintage Moon paper and those fun brads that came with the kit, but I also added the vintage dictionary flowers from my September kit too. Finally, to string the whole banner together nothing says Fall like some rafia, so I tied each piece together and voila! An Autumn banner that now adorns my mantel!
The banner in its entirety
And now some upclose pics

Is it me, or is the time going by way to fast? I normally try to blog in the morning on Wednesday because my mornings are jam-packed but I just haven't had the time. So, here I am a little later in the day. :)
One thing I have been noticing about myself lately is that I am not committed to doing a single-size layout. I will do anything from a 6x12 to a 12x12 and I normally allow the photo to dictate the size that I am going to do. The following two layouts are the only ones I have had time for this past week and they are both 8.5x11.
The first one is made with the September "Over the Rainbow" kit, with a few additional items that I threw in.
This picture just spoke to me. My daughter looks so young and free, ready to take on the world. Although, it's only a picture of her back and most people may not get that, this is what comes up for me. I decided to use the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by the Grateful Dead, Sugar Magnolia.
The next layout is just a quick one that I put together. I normally don't scrap with such bright colors but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and I am pleased that I did.
Anyways, I hope you are having a fabulous week and are getting everything together for Halloween. See you next week!! :)

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's Michelle here - back from my vacation with some new projects to share!
Scrapping was so much fun tonight! I've been working on my entry for the brand new Scrapping Across The Universe Challenge blog! The challenge was to use the opening scene of the movie (a beach scene) for inspiration. The picture is of my hubby Michael and stepson Steve, taken on our family vacation this year. I've been waiting for just the right inspiration to scrap this photo that I love so much, and the challenge was just what I needed! Here's what I came up with: I used Bree's October "Want Smore?" kit! I just love the vintage look to the happy camper paper! I painted the Riff Raff acorn with acrylic paint to give it some extra depth, and tore pieces of the map that came with the kit to make the leaves by the acorn. I also used a piece of the packaging from the alphabet stickers to make the striped edging below the photo. The fabric is a vintage thrift store find. On the bottom left-hand corner is a piece of birch-bark that I gathered on the trip. I used my favorite tool - the crop-a-dile - to punch holes in the bingo numbers and attached them with my paper tagger. They represent the date of the photo. That paper-tagger thing is pretty fun - this was my first time using it! It's kinda cool because the numbers dangle and give a little movement to the page.
I made the second layout with Bree's September "Over The Rainbow" kit! That kit is going a looonnnnggg way - it's packed with goodies folks! Anyway, it's a picture of my sweet cat Johnny (who by the way is sitting on my lap right now as I type this - pal that he is!):I finally busted into the handmade Crop Suey paper with the cute forest critters on it! I love that stuff! Everything is from the kit except the plain cardstock and most of the buttons. The journaling reads: "Johnny is thoroughly enjoying his transition to life in the suburbs." LOL. It's so true! When I married Michael I moved to the suburbs and the cats have never been happier - they've got more room and so many birds and squirrels to watch!
Okay, last but not least I wanted to share with you a little souvenir I made for myself with some guitar picks I got on our trip to Nashville:
Once again I used my trusty crop-a-dile to punch holes in the guitar picks, strung on a couple of beads in my fave colors and tah dah! - funky souvenirs to hang from my ears! P.S. They are dangling from a roll of paper towels that I happened to have in my scraproom - not toilet paper! HA.
Alrighty then - I best get going to bed since it's late here in Minnesota. It's been great chatting with ya! I'd love to see what you've been making with the kits - link us up!!!

Ok, so I had so much fun playing with this kit! These first two layouts are just fun!
The Disney layout, so plain, so simple, yet I really wanted the focus to be only on the photo......and the 13 of us!
Notice: I could NOT make the alpha stickers go along with my color scheme on this one, so just a little slip of the sharpie, and viola! They are black! I love re-purposing my supplies!

Then, this one! I love those boys of mine, and I love these mini bingo cards.....and the LUCKY one was just perfect for these pics!
So, then after I got done with these, I played some more! More pics to come later!
I have to get some kiddos ready for school!

Happy Friday everyone!!! WOW I can say I am sooo glad that Friday is finally here! I have been so swamped at work, preparing for 2 shows across the country in a couple weeks! So I finally can have my weekend for some scrapping:)!

Yay! That means one more day til the weekend! Woohoo! If you're like me, you wait all week for the weekend. I hope you gals are getting some good Fall pictures in. ;) I know I am!
Speaking of which, I did a Fall LO with my fabulous kit! It features my favorite things about Fall, thus the title. Duh! And I think I'm officially in love with wallet-size photos too! If you haven't tried working with these yet, I highly recommend it! They're so fun, and so much easier to fit a lot of them on a page! Anyway, here's my LO:
"Fall Faves"
And a few detail shots:

I turned my ticket upside down so it'd read 08 instead of 80 cents.
And this is another one I did with the Pop Fashion line of Camille's kit. I LOVE it so so so much! I mean, it's just perfect for my pictures! It's sooooo fun to play with! And I haven't run out yet! These kits are packed OUT!
Here's one of dd cooling off at the lake:
"Sittin' Pretty"
and a close-up of the embellie cluster
So that's all I have for you today girls. But I'm still playing with this kit! I've got a fun project to share with you next week, and another LO that's on my table as we speak! If you haven't snatched up a kit for yourself, I think you should hop right over and do it! Seriously, these kits are so worth it! And you'll see more from me soon! I hope everyone's having a great week, and going to have a fabulous weekend!
Deanna, out! (hehe! I've always wanted to say that! ;) )
