I hope everyone is having a wonderful final day of 2008! I have been busy all day getting things organized so that tomorrow I can start things out right. I haven't had any time to scrap because I have been so under the weather but I did get my January kit a few days ago so I am excited to relax and scrap tomorrow.
I love the feeling a new year brings, there's nothing like starting fresh and reflecting on all that has been accomplished in the past year. I have been making a list of goals and I am so excited and motivated to get 2009 off to a wonderful start. I'l see you next week with some January projects.
Happy New Year!!

One More Card with the December Kit...
Hi everyone! Michelle here and it's almost time for the January kits! Are you as excited as I am? Before we start with January, I wanted to share one last holiday card I made with Bree's December "Fast Food" kit.I doodled with a marker along the scalloped edge, added some KI memories striped paper to the bottom and the buttons are from my stash, but everything else is from the kit. I love how the silver punchinella and gold shiny thickers work together! So much fun! This has been one of my favorite kits yet, and I still have lots left to work with! Yeayyy!
Have a happy New Year's Eve everyone - stay safe and warm and I will chat with ya next Tuesday again!

A little project for 2009
Here is a little project I did a few weeks ago with my Crop Suey kit. The new year is coming around and I didn't want to create a whole calendar. So I opted for a simple solution that's so easy to do.
First, I created the calendar using Microsoft Word. I printed it and cut each month. I put them all in order and attached them together. I decorated a frame bought at the Dollar Store and glued my calendar. I also used a stamp from Absolument Scrap.
So, here it is...

Happy Day after Christmas...:)
I apologize for not blogging on Christmas Eve. I have two kids with pneumonia and I am fairly sick myself. I will be back next Wednesday after I have rested and created some more. I hope my January kit comes soon. :)
Have a wonderful holiday week!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Time for quick post--I'm still thinking that for some reason blogging is keeping me sane. Sooo, here's a quick little gift that I'm giving to family and friends so that they can enjoy their Christmas pictures all the more. It's just a $1 store little 4x6album, but then most of my family doesn't scrap anyway. They just carry around pictures. I got the idea for the book from Virginia and she got the idea for the Christmas trees made out of a scalloped circle punch from here. Here's 2 of them I made from last year's scraps.
Again, I hope you ALL have a wonderful and very Merry Christmas! See you next year! :D

Getting a little scrapbooking done!
But, I was working on some crafty things, and I needed a break.......so I worked on my kit! How fun!
I have been needing to get these pictures on a page! And, I love the colors of this paper.....and the green foil thickers were just fun!
The little star was actually from my son's converse shoes packaging, and I thought it was a fun addition to this page!
And, then, i needed some "boy" cards.......I usually make them too frilly.......so I loved the robots and sci-fi stuff in this kit! These cards are so cute! I am surely gonna make more!
***And, just a little bonus, I made these yummies for the teachers at the Elementary school!
So easy.
Pretzel, then add a rolo. Bake them for 5 minutes on 225, and then add the m&m, or add a pecan half!
Yum!

Two layouts
Hello there. Kim here.
I've been playing with Camille's kit and I must say I love these Basic Grey papers!!!
The first layout, I tried something visually different and I like the result. Everything is from the kit except the Pink Paislee alpha, taken from a previous kit and some Kaiser Blings, which I am totally addicted to!
The second layout I did is about the two birds we had when I was a kid. One was blue and one was green. On the picture, they are on the black radio. When we bought them, my sister and I suggested names for them. I remember that I suggested "Mashed Potato" and "French Fries"... Well, my suggestion hasn't been considered... I don't know why! lol.
Anyway, we finally named them Mario and Luigi, in honor of... well... Mario and Luigi!
By the way, I wanted to congratulate Michelle for winning the Project Catwalk contest at SIS! Wow! It's an honnor to be part of the same design team than you!

Buried in the SNOW....
Well My 2 week vacation officially started today! It's a Snow Day:) No school and No work and Foot of Snow on the ground. Baking cookies and going sledding.......Well Chanukah begins in only 2 days!!! No I am not Jewish, But my Neighbors are and they always have a huge celebration. And Christmas is less than a week away! I will be leaving in 3 days to head to Durham,NC for Christmas this year. Kinda excited, kinda not:)... I have never ever been away from home on Christmas. And well there is NO Snow in NC. Of course I have more than I can handle today and at least another foot or so on the way day after next! LOL
I did however finish up this LO this morning. It is kind of a collage of goods. I used December's Peeking Duck kit and several items from past kits. And several items that weren't even in a kit! Yeah that's how I roll:) LOL

Hey girls! It's me, Deanna, again! I'm sooo excited that we're getting closer to Christmas, even though it means more stress and a longer to-do list for the next couple of days! I hope everyone's enjoying the season! It can be so fun and magical, one of my favorite times of the year for sure!
And while it's one of my favorite seasons, I must say that I haven't been scrapping Christmas like I normally scrap other times. There's just too much to do. BUT I've been scrapping with one of my favorite paper lines, Basic Grey's Urban Prairie! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! It's so fun to work with and it can be as girly as you want/need it to be or not so much. I for one have tons of pink pictures. My youngest dd still doesn't have much hair even though she'll be turning 2 soon, so I dress her in pink A LOT! This is a LO of her in her pjs. I used Camille's December kit,Peking Duck. Loooove it! :D
That hidden smile
I also decided at the last minute to make some cards using various scraps I've collected through the year(s). Here are 3 of them. And part of my scrap usage is the velor scalloped ribbon that was also in the Peking Duck kit. ;) I love how it adds that soft, furry texture!
Again, I hope you all are having a great holiday so far! I'll see ya next week when it'll be CHRISTMAS!!! woohooo!
Happy Holidays everyone!

8 more days.....
until Christmas and I am overwhelmed!! How is everyone else doing? I still have some handmade cards to get out in the mail and a package that I have had sitting here on my desk for Miss Bree...forever.
I haven't been scrapping as much as normal and it's killing me. I can't wait to spend some time this weekend and relax with some hot chocolate and scrappy goodness. In the meantime, I thought I would share the one layout that I managed to make this week.
Pinwheels and Pigtails. :)
I also wanted to show you guys how I have wrapped most of my Christmas presents this year. We are trying to be extremely green and I used newspaper to wrap all of my gifts. Because of this, I wanted to make special tags. I used my scallop punch and my sweet little gnome stamp from my November Crop Suey kit and came up with these...
Simple and sweet!! I hope the next week is productive and fun for all of you. I'll be back on Christmas Eve!!

Christmas Wishes and Childhood Dreams...
Well hello again Crop Suey friends! Michelle here and I've got two projects to share with you this week! I've been working with Bree's "Fast Food" kit, and having so much fun! The first project is a layout I did for the Scrapping The Music Challenge blog. The song this week is "All I Want For Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey. Here's my take on the challenge:Everything in the layout is from the kit. The snow is actually the exhaust fumes from the Police Car paper in the kit, the christmas tree is cut from the color block paper, the word Christmas is hand-drawn and cut from the striped paper, and the word you is just the back side of the Bazzill bling with some doodling on the letters! This kit is so versatile!
Okay - remember this mini pouch from last week?Well, this week I made the minibook to go in it. The Creative Therapy blog prompt last week was to make something about your childhood dreams, and whether or not they were realized. So here's what I made. Everything is from the kit except for the vintage children's book pages and the trims, and I used my bind it all to put it together:
"When I was little I dreamed of:
being a ballerina with an all-white tutu, marrying Davy Jones,
living in the country with lots of animals to love, and making art every day.
Now... I prefer to wear black & I dance in my livingroom,
have trees in our yard with birds, squirrels and deer to feed,
two cats and three children to love,
I make art everyday & I'm married to Michael Rydell.
Sometimes real life turns out better than your dreams."
I hope you like the projects! Have a great week everybody!

Hey!
Hi everyone!
Hope you are having a great week-end!
Here is another layout made with my kit. As much as these papers are perfect for Christmas pages, they can be used for so many themes!
The picture is a decor I made for a Christmas party a few years ago. It was magical!
I LOVE the panda clear stamp!!!

Here is the layout I talked to you about a few weeks ago. I sprayed ink over a little tree branch to acheive this look! It's so fun!

See you!

In the Spirit of Giving.....
Just under 2 Weeks until Christmas! WOW I cannot believe it's that time of year already! Where has the year gone? Can you believe in 3 weeks CropSuey will be celebrating 5 months!!! Unbelievable, almost half year! I cannot believe it. And it has been quite a ride for me as a Crop Chick:)! These kits that Bree and Camille put together each month are very well thought out! If you haven't gotten the opportunity to get one. You really should! The extras they put in them are Fabulous:)

Hi there all you Crop Suey-ers! I hope this post finds you in the middle of a wonderful holiday season! Around here things are hectic, with lots that still needs to be done, and very little scrapping getting accomplished. But I'm trying to take it all in stride too without getting too stressed out about any of it. I'm also making a date with myself this weekend to sit and scrap with a cup of hot cocoa by my side! Doesn't that sound divine right now?!
I have a LO I did with Camille's Peking Duck kit that I want to share with you. This is a fabulous kit! I have to be honest and say that if I saw some of these papers in my LSS, I probably wouldn't have picked them up, BUT now that I have them, they're SOOOO FUN!!! My mind was going all over the place with ideas I love all the embellishments Camille paired with the papers too! In fact I had the hardest time deciding which embellishments to use with this LO because I wanted to use them all! I had to restrain myself and save them for other LOs that I plan to make (which will be soon)!
Christmas girls
I apologize for the horrible lighting. It's been raining buckets for 2 days straight. And if you look closely you can see where my paper is still warped, thus the wavy paper and bad shadows. As much as I tried to flatten those suckers out, they just wouldn't do it, and I was afraid of the Martha Steward technique of ironing it. So, there ya have it.
Hope you're enjoying the season! Almost half way there! Yipppee!

Some days....
just don't work out like you plan. I was going to scrap today when my daughter went down for a nap but after many failed attempts to get her to go to sleep, I thought it would be fun to do some thrift store shopping. We went to a few places and nothing jumped out at me. Finally, at our third stop I noticed a bunch of typewriters in the corner. The last time I found a typewriter at a thrift store, it was 75 dollars and two of the keys were stuck. I decided to dig around anyways. To my surprise, I found exactly what I wanted and it was only five bucks. Score for me!! I'm so excited and after I tested it out, every single key works. It has it's own little teal carrying case and it's exactly what I have been looking for.
So, needless to say, sometimes it's alright put off scrapping until the next day. So, I promise I will be back next week with some fun stuff. My Christmas cards are done, and most of my holiday stuff is accomplished. This weekend will be all about scrapping. I leave you with a picture of my new find. Happy Wednesday!!!

Lined Mini Book Pouch Tutorial...
Good morning good morning good morning!!! Michelle here, and I've got a simple project to share with you! When I saw the fabric that came with the Fast Food kit, it brought me right back to childhood! Isn't that stuff the cutest??? Anyways, I decided to make a minibook about my childhood dreams, and this will be the little pouch that will hold my minibook:Now I am not a seamstress by any stretch of the imagination, but I made this in one evening, and I'm really excited about it! If you would like to make one too, here's how:
1. Make your minibook pages, so you know how big you need your pouch. I cut 4 x 4" squares from a sodapop carton.
2. Lay your stack of pages on your fabric and cut a rectangle around them. Be sure to leave enough room on the sides so you can easily slide your book in, and make the length about 2 1/2 times the length of your minibook. (I'm not much of a measurer so I hope that makes sense - LOL). Then cut another piece of coordinating fabric the same size. 3. Put the right sides of the fabric together and use a basic stitch to sew three sides of the fabric, leaving the top open.
4. Turn the fabric right side out.
5. Fold it up to form a pouch like this:6. Sew the sides together like this:
7. Fold the raw top edges in and sew them shut.
8. Embellish as you please! I sewed some pom pom trim on the front, made a cloud out of craft foam, and sewed the handmade rocketship bead that comes with the kit onto the cloud. There you have it - it's done! Here's a view of the inside:
and a closeup of the embellie:
I hope you like the tutorial! Next week I will be back to show you the minibook I make with the other materials in the kit!
Have a great week everybody!
