Linnie Bell by Pebbles

I've had a pretty crazy week..

you see my Hubby got my new cabinets installed this week.
Im so excited I could die.
Check them out
(still waiting for the countertops)

And it's all mine.
I'm pretty excited because my computer will be down there to,
so online crops are going to be much better with this set up.

Oh yeah.... I started this card on Thursday while the cabinet guy was installing,
and i wanted to share with you....

It's my first trifold card....
It's so outside the box for me....lol

Watch for the webisode tomorrow.

I'm lost in my backyard...

The past week has been crazy at my house. We are in the beginning stages of crafting our backyard into a livable place. It's slow going because we've been forced to do most of the digging and "forming"ourselves; but there is progress (otherwise I would have given up by now!)

Anyhow, I thought I would share two pics with you.

Here is my scrap table...
It's not easy for me to work in this mess. I was one of those university gals who cleaned my room spotless before beginning to study for an exam...get all the distractions out of the way first!

And, after a bit of digging I found this...
This is the LO that I started working on last Wednesday in the hopes of showing you by the weekend.

Yup, it's not done yet. I am hoping to find the time to dig into the fun Sausan paper tonight!

So, let's hope I find the energy tonight after digging in my yard all night (our sun sets at 10:45pm here in the summer, not conducive to calling it quits outside early and settling into my cozy corner for some "me" time!)

...let's hope the shovel or wheelbarrow take a turn for the worse!

Another Card with Leafy Greens kit!

I was over at Bree's yesterday and we were playing around with the Leafy Greens kit.

As most of you know, Bree is kinda obsessed with O-W-L-S (don't tell ok?) And, this kit is right up her alley. The confession I have to make is that I really like owls too, but maybe not as much as Bree.

So, I really had fun with this one. I don't know what it is, but I am fascinated by "googly" eyes lately. They seem to really bring a card or LO to life (and they are fun and quirky)!

Here's what I made:
You may not be able to tell, but the owls are perched on a piece of twine. I had fun making it, and when I glued the "googly" eyes on I actually laughed out loud. I like the effect that it gives.

Have a great Friday, I will announce the winner of LAST FRIDAY's giveaway tomorrow.

My Muddy Buddy -a LO by Nicki

Our June Guest Designer has been creating again...

Nicki created this fun LO of her son playing in the mud.
The journaling reads: "Water is such as magnet to you. Everywhere we go you seem to find it. You had so much fun playing in the puddles while Momma washed the van. You love getting muddy! May 2009"

She created this with Crop Suey's Sweet Potato Pie kit. I love it!

Camille's PHOTO TUTORIAL-Beaded embellies

Do you want to have a little fun with all those beads you have left over from the eighties and nineties?!?!

Here's what you'll need:
-scissors
-wire
-beads

Cut a piece of wire that you feel will be long enough to complete your project, I'm about to show you how I made a butterfly for a card that I was making.
Make a small loop in your wire and begin threading your beads, with our without a pattern. As you get enough beads to make parts of your design, twist the wire on itself.
Then, after some playing around, here's what I made (and what you can make too):
Here are a couple of cards I made to thank my son's playschool teachers.
It's simple and fun and you can do it too!

I really like using up all the little things that I have collected over the years, kinda mix the old with the new.

Take a look at all the stuff you have hidden away and go create.

You might be happily surprised at what you create.

A Birthday Card for my Mom!

It's my mom's birthday this weekend and I, being the wanna-be creative artist that I am, made a card for her.

It wasn't hard to find some good stuff in the Jelly Belly Beans kit!

So, here it is:
I tried sewed behind the paper flowers, it looks good on the actual card. I wish I could bring it to you so that you can see it for yourself.

Enjoy the rest of your day. Bree, Nicki and I are sitting on her deck right now enjoying a spinach, strawberry and almond salad with some yummy blueberry and pomegranate vinaigrette.

Just a little Jelly Belly Beans....

Well, I meant to hit post a couple of days ago, but time got away on me.

I went camping with my family this weekend and packing got a little more time consuming than anticipated...

...anyhow, enough about my life!

I've been playing around with Jelly Belly Beans and it has been so much fun. I made this LO with the fun We R Memory Keepers papers.

You may or may not know, I've been avoiding going to the optometrist because I was FULLY aware that I needed glasses but wanted to AVOID it!
So, when my son had his check up, my whole family booked appointments and I finally, and reluctantly admitted that I needed glasses (also, the optometrist told me so!).

So, I made a LO embracing the change.
Here it is:
Have a great day and stay tuned for more from the Jelly Belly Bean kit.

Next week will feature Leafy Greens...this kit has SOOOOOOO much paper in it...

...so much fun to play with it all!

JUNE'S GUEST DESIGNER

Our Guest Designer for June is.. Nicki Steinkampf..

Let's get to know her a little better...

Hi all! I am a happy SAHM of two. Evan is 22 months, and Megan is 3 months old already. So, life is busy at my house! My husband, Mark, and I have been married for 6 1/2 years - I am so blessed by him.

I have always thought of myself as a 'crafty' person - God has blessed me with a creative spirit. My love for paper crafting really began about 7 years ago with card making. I love being able to sit down and create something in one sitting that will put a smile on someone's face or brighten their day. Scrapbooking is a newer love for me, especially now that I have children. My desire is to capture special moments in my family that we can look back on in years to come.

I am honored (and a little nervous) to be June's guest designer here on Crop Suey - Bree and Camille are wonderful friends that I love rubbing creative elbows with. Keep up the great work ladies!

Blessings,
Nicki
