Smile! Once More!

Anam has been a busy girl here at Crop Suey this month.

You think she would be on her sumer break, or something.
We must be slave drivers... or she just loves this kit!

Check out these awesome flowers she made for this page using vintage wedding cake wrappers
I love the frames too... I think I have to pull out those old pinking shears and get cutting

Projects from Technique Tuesday

Here are a couple of cards that I made from the things we created from the "Heat Bond" Technique Tuesday video.

Now, I'm wondering what else I can make with that great new discovery of how to use Heat Bond!

We'd love to see what you can make with it too!

Sorry about the no sound.

You tube didn't like my music choice so they muted the entire thing....
Thanks for your patience,

FAY

I'm Speechless.

This photo is stunning.
And I love how Anam emphasized the purple in the patterned paper.

I love how she created a border for her photo using butterflies.

A challenge to get done...

As you may know, the fabulous Bree is the genius behind the challenge blog Scrapping Across the Universe.

I have done a little LO for the current challenge that is up.

Here is the Current Challenge:

WHO AM I? .... During the family dinner Max's father is not impressed that Max is dropping out of college., and asks what is he going to do now? Max states "What will he do? Why isn't the issue- Who I am?" His father argues and says that Max will be defined by his career choice. What did you want to be when you grew up? What do you do now? What defines you? Who are you?

So, here's what I came up with using the fabulous papers from Sausan Designs.

I also decided to finally dip into my collection of buttons and use them on a page. I Glimmer Misted my huge flower to give it some shine and then added all the buttons I could fit (well, I actually could have put more but ran out of patience adhering them!!)

Nothing spectacular, just a little fun for the SATU challenge.

Check it out HERE; if you participate Bree will send you a little something. I know what she's giving away and it is worth taking the time to make a LO for the current challenge.

Fimo Clay Projects

I thought I would share larger photos of my Clay Projects from the Tutorial....

First is my pendant I made into a Necklace.
I painted this charm with acrylic paint and dusted the stamped image with Mica powder.
I then sealed it with modge poodge.
I punched an extra hole in the bottom to create space to hang extra beads from.

This is the charm featured in the video.
I colored it with Alcohol ink and dusted it with Pearl Ex Powders,
Then sealed it with Modge Podge.
And created this card with it.
( Iused some fairly old Cosmo Cricket papers)

I created this charm with no holes... for this card.
I stamped the image into the clay.. then used a pill bottle to create the circle shape.
Then baked it at 100 for half an hour.
Colored it with Ink and then white glue on the raised part of the stamp.
Then I sprinkled glitter on it.
ANd created this vintagey card.
(I think these are Wassail Basic Grey Papers)
And one more quick little charm and card.
I did the same circle cutting technique as mentioned above.
I used a few layers of spray ink to color this charm.
Then I used a pearly mica powder over the entire charm.
And sealed it.
(Cosmo Cricket papers Fleuriste?)

I hope you enjoyed that quick tutorial and post today.
Tune in next week for another Webisode!

Oh and dont forget to leave a comment for that

More Paper beads.
Have you tried these yet?
They are so easy.. and so fabulous!

Saw a tutorial on YOUTUBE how to make these rays.
Love the way it turned out
This card is my favorite.
I used some RIFF RAFF Chipboard (the robots)
and some stickles and paint. and scraps....

Some Birthday Fun!

Well, I'm back from my holidays and I hit the ground running this time. We had an eventful holiday...we were hit by a deer, had 4 days of downpour rain and the kids were very sick for 4 days too...

Things had to get better once we returned home!

My son has a birthday this weekend and is turning 5! He is so excited; mostly because his friends birthday party is TODAY!

So, of course, I made some invitations for him to give away to his friends...and made it with the Bumbleberry Pie kit. I love the Basic Grey Lime Rickey...and if you love Basic Grey you will love next month's kit (yeah, that's as subtle as I get)

Here are the invites:

Now, I am off to pick up the birthday cake...no time to make it myself this year! Then off to the party, home for supper and then off to another friend's party...one busy day for me today!!

Mixing kits!

I wanted, a long time ago, to try and make something mixing lots of kits from Crop Suey. I finally did it!

I don't think I used as many as I wanted, 4 i think, but I love the result! I added vintage goodies I had.

"Dodo" means "sleeping", but in a child-ish way. I think it's the third layout I do with this title, but anyway!!!

Kim

I love me some PIE!

So I just got back from our holiday

and I just had to tear into  my new kit.
I'm not what you call a "traditional  scrapbooker"
Im not your typical girl who makes typical paper projects.
But... I really loved a gift tag I got at Christmas from
the fabulous Deana, and was inspired to make one for myself.
Let me tell you ...
they are not as easy to make as you might think...

But here goes....

these are the tags I made
using the Bumbleberry Pie Kit...

( "B" Happy)
(Enjoy)
(Bliss)

Do you guys make tags?
I challenge all of you to make a tag.
Add a link and I'll give away a fabulous
and I mean ULTRA FABULOUS Prize!
You'll have until August 1st to linky to this post!

New Technique Form Kimmy

Hi guys!

I l-o-v-e handmaking flowers to add to my layouts! When I saw these Scribble Prima flowers, I thought they were great but so easy to make! Here's how!

I chose three different type of flower. One is made of chipboard I painted in teal. One is in cardstock (pink) and one is a real Prima flower (black).

To make the puffy details, I used Pebeo Volume Touch paint. Any puffy paint would work....

So I simply applied the paint: lines, grids, dots, everything works!

Then, I let the paint dry completely.

With a heat embossing tool, I heated the flowers until the paint puffes.

A closer view...

Remember this page made with a Crop Suey kit on which I added them.

Hope you guys liked this technique!
