A card... sort of!

I am not the "regular card-maker type"... When I want to give a card, I always end up giving a fun and different little and easy project. Here's one I did.

I used a cardboard ribbon thing and covered the top and bottom. I simply decorated it a little bit on top.

I cut a stripe of paper and wrote a message on the white side of the paper. I glued one end to the cardboard thing and rolled the rest around it.

VoilĂ ! You simple have to unroll it as a ribbon to read the message! Fun!

Amy Tan

I have been dying to share with you guys these 2 fabulous projects by the
Uber-Fabulous Amy..
I totally dig her clean and graphic style with a touch of whimsy.

Check out how she used the recycled fabric on this layout.
And the sewing frame is to die for.

Tune in tomorrow for a NEW Techniques Tuesday!

An update and a little project!

Ok, let's start with a cute little canvas I made with some leftovers from a former kit.

I took Basic Grey's Urban Prairie (which is one of my favorite collections of all time). I don't know what in particular draws me to the collection...maybe it's all of my favorite colors in one bundle that make me so HAPPY.

Anyhow, I am designing a canvas LO for our church's upcoming crop and thought I would fiddle and see if I can come up with something inspiring. So far, this canvas will adorn the wall of my daughter's room.

Here it is:

I had fun making it and it help me to get the creative juices flowing in preparation for my canvas class.

NOW, for the Crop Suey update.

Bree and I have been hard at work designing a new look and a new approach for Crop Suey. It's in it's final stages and next week we will be revealing the new Crop Suey.
We are still holding onto elements that are a HUGE success, most of all our Technique Tuesdays.

I don't want to let the cat out of the bag just yet. Stay tuned next week for the big news. WE are going to have so much fun with the NEW Crop Suey...and we're chomping at the bit to let you in on it.

So, we apologize for not having blogged the last couple of weeks, but it's all in preparation for what coming up...

Stay tuned,

Camille

Another layout!

I had lots of fun doing this LO!!!

I used the paper from the back of a chipboard as a mask....
...and the ribbon from the kit...

... and created this fun background paper!

I glued a couple of pieces of paper...

... doodled a little bit...
... and voilĂ !!!

Technique Tuesday on a Saturday with Kimmie!

Here's a simple technique I did and want to show you!

First, I chose a chipboard from the Pink Lemonade kit.

I cut several little pieces of paper from different sheets of patterned paper.

I applied adhesive to a scrap piece of paper.

I glued them down so that they are touching each other.

I cut the paper to fit the center of the chipboard.

I finally glued the cercle to my layout and then glued the chipboard. Easy! Right?

I'll show you the finished layout soon!

An Interview with Claudine Hellmuth

We had the wonderful opportunity to get some insight into the talented Claudine Hellmuth.

We asked some questions and she gave us the answers...pretty simple, yet great to know what inspires her!

Q:
Where do you find inspiration?
A:
When I am working on my custom artworks for clients I get the inspiration from the client, they present me with an idea and I figure out how I can incorporate it into a collage. I really enjoy working this way, it presents a challenge and it can sometimes be like solving a problem!

Q:
Do you ever disassemble a project because it's just not right, and re-do it again?
A:
All the time! If it's not working, it's time to start over!

Q:
How do you grow as an artist?
A: Make lots of art!!

Q: What is your favorite paper crafting item?

A: Gel medium! I can't glue anything without it!

Q: What is your favorite tool?

A: Scissors

Q: What item in your studio could you NOT live without?

A: Paint, can not live without paint!

Come back on Saturday for the rest of the interview. She is such an amazing artist...hey, Martha Stewart loves her too!!

Have a great day and be sure to catch the rest of the interview.

Camille
