Here's another!

Here's the layout I cut beige circles for!
For this lo, I had the idea of using the border stickers from Pink Lemonade 2 ways. Idea number one was to use them as a mask, and idea number two was to then use them as regular stickers. Bad idea...

I used them as a mask but the ink sort of went into the sticker and it was so hard to remove it after from the background paper.

Anyway, I love the result, but I wasn't able to use the sticker after. Bummer!

A bit of sewing!

And the mask effect I did.

Perfect Day by Andrea Weibe

I am always in awe at what Andrea creates. She takes the same stuff that I have and makes these exquisite LO's that are absolutely gorgeous.

This one is called "Perfect Day"
This Pink Lemonade Kit has been the perfect summer kit for me. I love the combination of colors and the way all of the Basic Grey papers compliment each other. Then there are the many extras too.

A perfect kit for layouts and great for cards too.

Check out our card challenge blog... GET SKETCHY!

Also, get ready for a change to Crop Suey in September. We will be celebrating our first year in business and giving you something NEW to enjoy. That's all I can say for now...but it's worth the wait!!

Technique Tuesday! How to Make a Ribbon Purse

Monday, August 24, 2009

I heart this Crop Suey kit!

It is so beautiful!!!
The color and fun embellishments are perfect!!!
Here's one layout with Bree's kit:
Because I needed cercles punches from this beige/yellow background paper, I had to cover them. What I did is that I cut stripes in the different patterned papersfrom the kit and glued the under the holes. The result is so cool and so easy to do!!!

See ya!

Andrea's made the Basic Grey Gallery

It's hard to believe that the month is already winding up and that September will be upon us very soon. Here in Alberta, it's our time to go back to school and all of our lives get busy once again. The lazy hazy days of summer are not over yet...but the school days are beginning to creep up!

Here is some great and fun news. Andrea made the Basic Grey Gallery with something she made from our kit.

Here is her LO: FREEDOM
Here is the link over at Basic Grey -Check it out!

What an honor to be able to have Andrea Wiebe design for us...it is truly our privilege!

One more LO from Andrea Wiebe!

Just some more fabulous work by our Guest Designer Andrea Wiebe! She has such an eye for putting everything together and truly inspires me to create.

I love her torn strips of paper and the hand sewn buttons on this one. And outlining the title with a black marker just really makes it stand out that little bit more.

Love it! Truly love her work!

Stay tuned for more because we have her coming to you until the end of this month!

Andrea's Ribbon Flower

These simple flowers work perfect with the lace found in the August kit...when you fold the lace you get a nice puffy flower!

1. Cut a piece of lace about 6 inches long; fold lace in half.2. Thread a needle with embroidery floss and stitch a running stitch at the base.3. Pull embroidery floss to create your flower shape.4. Make a stitch to keep in place.5. Sew on button.

Have a very wonderful day!

Love,
Andrea

Here is what she made with the flower! It's made for the amazing challenge she has out called "52 Pick Me Up". You really should go check it out!

A fun LO with some Pink Lemonade!

I made this LO for the current challenge up at Scrapping Across the Universe!

I threw in the Riff Raff wildflower that I have been holding onto for such a long time. I had been waiting for the "perfect" LO, then decided to finally just use it and "ta-da"...I did it!!

I REALLY like the combo of pinks and yellows in this kit. It's fun...it's girly.

Yeah, it's girly...and I LIKE girly!

Check out the new challenge over at Scrapping Across the Universe!

Tutorial by ANDREA!

Hair Pin Holder

(Isn't this the cutest..I'm off to make one myself now!)

  1. Apply a thin bead of white glue around the circumference of the inner hoop.

Supplies from the August kit:

• fabric

• lace

• flower

• chipboard flower

• brad

• letter stickers

Other Supplies:

• embroidery hoop

• embroidery floss/needle

• white glue

  1. Cut a piece of fabric slightly larger than your hoop. Cut a piece of lace the width of your fabric.
  1. Apply a thin bead of white glue around the circumference of the inner hoop.

  1. Place your cut fabric on top of your inner hoop; fold lace in half horizontally and place where you’d like that to be. Push your outer hoop over the lace and fabric. Gently pull fabric and lace until tight and secure.

  1. Thread a needle with embroidery floss and hand stitch around the fabric. This will keep the extra fabric in the back of the hoop and add a little extra stability. Here is a picture of the back…

And the front…

5. Embellish as you’d like. I poked a brad through the chipboard flower and then through the large green flower and then finally through the fabric on the hoop.

Thanks Andrea for that amazing tutorial, and for your constant inspiration!
